This award-winning skin protectant does more than soothe sun-burned skin, rehydrate chapped lips, and heal rough elbows and calluses. It’s also the secret that makeup artists all over the world use for keeping legs, lips and eyelids shiny; eyebrows in place; and cuticles perfectly manicured. There are an infinite number of ways to use this classic cream.

THE LEGEND Created in 1930 by Elizabeth Arden herself to soothe skin, Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant became an instant and overwhelming success. What made it so effective? A combination of petrolatum, a skin-soothing beta-hydroxy -- debuting in one of its first cosmetic uses -- and vitamin E. The apricot-colored balm was so beneficial to her clients that Miss Arden even used it to soothe her famous thoroughbred horses' legs. Even its name came about thanks to a remarkable performance – a loyal client used it to treat her child's skinned knee and "Eight Hour®s" later, the skin was all better.

Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 47.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Seriously Smelly It may be an excellent product for my dry, chapped hands and cuticles, but I can't bear the overwhelming icky smell. I see now there is a fragrance free version -- wish I could trade the one I bought in for it, but I've had it too long, though only used twice, and decided the smell was just too much of a downside. The protectant properties work, but at a price of my nose sensitiviey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A MUST HAVE This is a multiple use winner. Yes the scent is odd, as others have stated - but never overbearing. I LOVE this product. A little goes a long way so therefore it is economical. I use it to smooth and protect skin under my eyebrows prior to plucking stray hairs. I also dab on dry patches and believe me when I say it's a miracle worker because it repairs and replenishes dryness on my face quickly. Eight hour cream is perfect on target areas as well before I apply my night cream. A must have!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great multitasker I hadn't tried it before I bought my first tube about two months ago. I can't say it's a miracle worker, but it's great because it's so multipurpose, I tried it on my heels for about a week but when I noticed no difference I stopped, i thought it used up too much product since it's quite expensive. I do use it as a nightly lip balm and on dry patches on my face, and that works great! I love waking up in the morning and realising it's still on my lips, not like a regular balm. It smells exactly like resin, the tree kind of resin, EXACTLY, I didn't like the smell at all in the beginning, probably because I couldn't figure out what it was, but once I did it became much more pleasant. It also works wonders on scabs and flakey skin from for example, a pimple, I put a generous amount of this on my pimple a while before I'm doing my makeup, and the pimple scab/dryness just peels right off without any effort, which makes the makeup look so much better. I would repurchase, the price is worth it, since it replaces so many of your other products, if I ever run out, you don't need much when you use it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This eight hour cream is brilliant. I have used this cream for 30 years whenever I have irritated, cracked, overly dry areas. It literally heals overnight. I had a trip to the Artic in the middle of winter. The sun was so strong with the reflection off the snow, my lips were cracked, with sores and bleeding. I had sunscreen on to no avail given where I was. I put the cream on my lips and all around my mouth. My sores, blisters and cut lip were gone the next morning. Without a word of a lie. No one in the group could believe it. It truly is a miracle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long Time Friend I have been using Eight Hour Cream since my 20's (now 66). I bought my first jar when it was in a giant, beautiful, black and gold jar! I loved diving into that jar an using the cream on my face, hands and lips to keep them smooth. My husband even got used to the "scent" and loved it. Bring back the big black and gold jar. It was as special as the cream. Love this stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful! I use it as a lip balm. I have tried the best of them....and this works the best for dry, chapped lips. I put on at night before bed. I also use on the heels of my feet and it works wonders for cracked heels.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from yuk After rave reviews here and in beauty magazines I decided to try this and I'm very disappointed. It's basically Vaseline but it smells HORRIBLE.
