Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dont like this at all I have tried using this cream on my dry hands, cuticles, and as suggested eye brows. It's just to sticky and thick for me. I did not notice a smell. Left my eye brows feeling greasy after my 12 hour shift and my hands felt sticky. Some like this consistancy, I however do not.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't like the smell or how it feels I really didn't like this at all. It made my hands feel greasy and didn't get that absorbed feeling like most skin protectants do. I also didn't care for the smell. I don't really know how to describe it other than old and rubbery. Also the color tone of this product was very off putting. I can't even describe the color of it, it just wasn't appealing. I have seen and used other Elizabeth Arden products before, this just missed the mark for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth every money Compliments on my skin with my first tube was noted at work. People I never had state anything about my skin were coming up to me asking me "what are you using, you have beautiful skin!" I am not young by any means but when younger women start asking me about skin care? I am paying attention, something I am doing is right. I didn't realize but it was about 3 weeks that I had started using this cream. It is worth it.i have very dry skin it definitely helps protect your skin for 8hours

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just not for me While this may be good for 8 hours over night, it's just not for me. It felt thick like vaseline and has a strong smell to it. It did however make my skin feel radiant after a couple weeks. Just not something I would use daily.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Thick but bad smell This is very thick and effective for very dry skin, lips, etc. The smell, however, is not for me. Just kind of smells like it belongs on a car and not a person. I might continue using on my heels at night or for some other purpose that won’t involve smelling it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very creamy I've been using this product for over ten days. It's super creamy feeling and when I put it on my skin it definitely feels like it's creating a barrier. My skin feels nice and moisturized. The cream has a light scent and is orange in color. I did get a sunburn and was using this to make sure I didn't peel as much on my face, it really helped. I am very happy that I can a nice cream to add to my beauty routine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall good product Honestly this product overall works great. It helped so much with the winter roughness. I have major issues with the skin on my hand peeling and although it was getting better with the season change it still has the last of it. This seemed to make the cracks heal faster and also made my hands overall softness better. I really liked how long it seemed to last. The biggest complaint is the smell. It has a medicinal smell which I did not like which is kind of a deterrent to use while working so it was mainly a before bed kind of cream.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Decent product I've had this for about a week now and have tried to love it, but I can't. I first used it on my cuticles, they are very dry and need help. After applying it, I felt like I needed to wear gloves. Since the main ingredient is petroleum jelly, it doesn't rub in very well. Plus, the smell is a bit too much for me and not very pleasant. I tried it on my lips, I had to take it off right away. I might try it on my feet this weekend when I can apply and just sit on the couch with socks on. This might work better for someone in the cold where your skin is always chapped and you don't care if your product smells good or not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thick cream for maximum protection I like this cream. It is petroleum based and extremely thick (think ointment). It worked great on my chin that was cracked and peeling to both sooth and protect. It has a rose tint, that went on rather strong but after rubbing in wasn't noticeable. The scent is light and pleasant. I foresee using the cream a lot this summer to protect and heal after days in the sun and wind. I have fair skin that is sensitive, and this did not inflame or irritate. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely Moisturizing I love how moisturizing this skin protectant is. I feel like my skin is glowing and happy when I use it. A little goes a long way and it can last for hours as advertised. I will definitely purchase a larger quantity next time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ok product, unpleasant smell This product is branded as an 8 hour cream....the product itself is more like a petroleum jelly than a cream and it has a very strong medicinal odor. I applied this product in the a.m. and unfortunately lasted barely 2 hours certainly not 8. The fragrance of the product is a miss, you almost don't want to use it because of the fragrance.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Absolutely loving this cream! The Original Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant from Elizabeth Arden has truly exceeded my expectations. I have tried this cream mostly on my feet and face. My face is very dry around the eyebrows and lips, but this has been my go-to since its arrival on my doorstep. I have not experienced any skin irritation. It works great on my dry and cracked heels. My eyebrows look a whole lot better now because my skin stays moisturized throughout the day and is no longer peeling. The cream has a light fragrance but I can’t figure out what the scent resembles. I recommend this cream because it has great emollient properties. The price is a bit steep for my frugal pockets, but I do tend to spend money on quality products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My skin is soft and healthy looking! I am really tough on my hands, and it shows. Add in living in Las Vegas, and they are dried out most of the time. The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream does an incredible job of re-hydrating my hands. It has a nice scent, not too heavy or perfume like. When I applied it to my hands it felt really oily. I was concerned, I try to avoid heavy, greasy products. About 15 minutes after applying it, it was completely absorbed in, and no longer felt greasy. I like that I do not have to reapply it after every hand washing, my hands remains soft, and moisturized, even after I've washed my hands. It is not what I expect of a cream. It feels more like an oil/cream/serum hybrid. I am not really sure how to explain it. What ever you want to call it, it left my skin soft and smooth. After a few days of use there was no sign of the previously dried, cracked skin I had before using it. My hands have a nice healthy glow, which I never expected. I have not tried it on my face, as I am prone to break outs. But I am very happy with the results every where else I have tried this cream.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I’ve been putting this on my awful cuticles, they were so sore from being dried out. My fingers are so much softer now and don’t hurt anymore... I also put this on dry patches on my face that my usually facial lotion doesn’t do a very good job at, you would think that it would be very greasy on your face but surprisingly it wasn’t. My face felt super soft and moisturized, I find myself caressing my face during the day, I love this stuff!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Really works! I was excited to give this product a try because it claims to not only hydrate the skin but protect it as well. Since it's a petroleum-based cream, I would consider it to be more of an ointment/occlusive rather than a cream. I prefer to use this at night because it has a strong, kinda unpleasant scent (my reason for 4 stars). I typically have dry skin and now that I'm using a prescription retinoid, my skin is even dryer, especially my lips! The EA Eight Hour® Cream Skin Protectant works perfectly as the last step in my evening skincare routine. I use a tiny bit on my face to seal in the moisture from my night cream. I also put a layer on my hands and on my lips to seal in the moisture there as well. My skin is practically glowing when I wake up in the morning and my lips are no longer chapped! Another way that I use it is on my feet before bed. I'll put some lotion on, then a layer of this cream, and then a pair of thick socks and by morning my feet are so moisturized. I love that this product is so versatile in it's applications. I would definitely recommend this to others, but it may not be for people who are sensitive to strong smells.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best I have been using this for years. I use it every night on my lips and cuticles before bed. Also have used on other dry patches Works great each time I use it

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works Fairly Well I wanted to truly love this hand cream. First of all, I would consider this more of an ointment rather than a cream. It is very sticky and greasy like petroleum jelly. As a matter of fact, the ingredients label states it is 56.8% petrolatum. I don't necessarily mind that because I have very dry skin but it was not what I was expecting based on the label! Now as far as effectiveness, it really does work very well! My hands felt very hydrated and soft all day. I recommend putting it on after washing hands so you can seal in all the moisture and get maximum moisturization. Keep in mind it is going to need a little time to absorb due to the thick texture. Sadly, the scent is just too much for me. It's hard to describe the smell, it's definitely not floral, maybe like a soapy medicinal smell. It's also pretty strong. Honestly it reminds me of my grandma - sorry grandma! I really like the cream based on how it works but I would go for the fragrance-free version if you are sensitive to smells.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love this stuff! This product is great for all sorts of things! I especially love it on my lips, has a hint of color but hydrates well. It's great on cuticles and dry skin too. I've been carrying it around in my purse for anything I might need to use it for but definitely a good alternative to lip gloss (adds the gloss & shine but makes your lips feel good too).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best It makes my face feel refreshed and baby smooth.A little bit of this cream protectant goes a long way. It is very rich and thick but does not leave a greasy feel my skin texture become smoother and hydrated, but it felt moisturized and soothed. The difference is astounding!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great I started using this 8 hour cream 2 weeks ago. It did not take 2 weeks for me to start to see the difference. This cream works amazing. It is not greasy and soaks into the skin right away. My skin it softer and no more dry patches.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Feels good on skin! I really like how my hands feel after using this Eight Hour Cream. For some reason my hands have been feeling really dry lately. I don't know if it just the weather or it is just getting worse with age. I like that it is thick and feels like it is penetrating the skin. It does feel like it lasts for hours like it says. It stays where you put it. You don't have to worry about drips with this cream. I appreciate that it is versatile. You can use it in many ways like dry skin, chapping, peeling and flaking. It is of good size so it is easy to keep in your purse. It does have a smell that is different, but it is a smell that you will get used to and actually like.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Product I like the way this cream works. When first putting on it was kind of oily and made my face super shiny. After giving it time to dry and soak into the skin it made my face feel very soft. I do like the fact that it is multi purpose cream for the skin not just the face.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Smells bad I have very dry skin and now that summer is almost here I’ve had a couple of sun burns already. I used this product to soothe my skin and the residue is sticky and smells really bad. That’s why I took two stars off. I left 3 stars because the cream did ease the pain of my sunburn and my dry skin. Just not sure if I can deal with the smell each time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Locks in moisture like a dream! This is a very smooth, velvety cream that acts as a sealant for keeping moisture in the skin. It’s made active ingredient is petrolatum, so I have used this on my lips, cracked cuticles, lids, around my nose, and other areas that tend to dry out more than usual. I also use this to set my brows in place and it works great! The texture of this cream is smooth and easy to apply but doesn’t thin out and get slippery with the warmth of your skin; it keeps a lot of its smooth texture that helps it to stay on overnight. I use this as a lip balm at night, after my regular moisturizer in my nightly routine, and also coat my cuticles with it before bed. My nail beds crack and split very easily no matter the season and this cream stops drying out dead in its tracks. I’ve had this for two weeks and have not put a dent in it as a tiny dab goes a very long way.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unique Moisturizer! The Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant works in a variety of ways. This item is unique, pleasant to use and moisturized the skin very well! I used the product on my face, including my lips and eyebrows. I also, used it on my hands and very dry elbows. I followed the directions and applied. The cream left my face very healthy, plump and soft. My hands and elbows looked and felt softer, too. This product was much better than I had expected and I will buy this in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Cuticles! When I first started using the Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant I was a little confused because I was expecting a cream/lotion. It does not have a cream consistency, but much more of a skin protectant or ointment consistency. It works great on my hands, feet, and cuticles. I was hoping it would be much more of a hand cream, but it has worked wonders on my cuticles and has become part of my regular routine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Dry Skin I have problems with dry skin mainly on my hands so I began using the Elizabeth Arden New York Eight Hour Cream Skin Protector. After only a week of using it & applying only a small amount, it has really helped my dry hands & cracked fingers. I like that it can be used also on cracked lips which happens so often to me during the winter months so I am looking forward to using this product for that purpose also. The scent is something that is not very pleasant but once rubbed in, it doesn’t linger on your skin. It’s definitely a product that I will continue using!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Multipurpose Cream; Protects and Moisturizes This Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden is multifaceted and has so many uses! It's provides skin protection and is also a great moisturizer. I have severely dry cracked heels that can't be fixed no matter how much I buff my heels with a pumice stone and slather them with lotion each day. This cream has really turned my heels around and I'm no longer ashamed of wearing sandals and open back shoes. I also use this cream as a lip balm. It keeps my lips chap-free and very glossy to boot. During the drier winter months, my skin gets exceedingly dry and chapped. This cream makes a great overnight moisturizer for all those dry areas I use it on my hands and feet. After you dab some on, put on some cotton gloves and socks and the next morning, there will be a lot of improvement. A little of the cream comes a long way. I highly recommend this multipurpose cream for everyone.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Greasy I was super excited to start using this "cream", it's really not a cream, it's more like a gel. I was very hesitant on putting it on my face because of the texture, but I decided to try it for the 1st night. I also put it on my neck, elbow, feet, and hands. I ended up washing it off my hands because it was too greasy feeling and I couldn't stand it. I honestly didn't notice a change until I used it for a few days. My cuticle were dry and so was the skin around my nails, now they're not so dry. My heals still are dry, but they've been that way for a while so maybe they need more TLC. I'm not using on my face any longer as I feel greasy and I put it on at night, so I don't want it getting on my bedding. Just a little of the product goes a long way so that's a plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Smell amazing This cream smells amazing. Living in cold weather my skin gets dry all the times and very crackly. I apply a small amount of this product and voila... things seem softer and smoother instantly. It lasts longer than the cheaper OTC products. Would get it again.
